Colonel John C. Childers Pi Kappa Alpha Scholarship

The Colonel John C. Childers/Pi Kappa Alpha Scholarship was established by the Estate of John C. Childers. Colonel Childers graduated from Arkansas State College (Arkansas State University) in 1949 with a degree in Business. He entered the Army in 1944 and retired in 1975. He served overseas in Japan, Germany, Korea and Vietnam. His decorations and awards include the Bronze Star, two Legions of Merit, The Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. While at Arkansas State College, Colonel Childers was a founding member of the Delta Theta Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha. He was an integral part of shaping the chapter into what it is today.
