Dr. James F. Golden Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1987 by the family of Dr. James F. Golden, associate professor of Education at Arkansas State University, in recognition of his many years of service to the field of counseling. Before his death, Dr. Golden was a member of the Arkansas School Counselors Association, and received special recognition for his many contributions to the field of counseling. He was presented the first Arkansas Humane and Caring Person Award by the Arkansas Association of Counseling Guidance and Development. He actively participated in helping establish the Educators in Industry program in Arkansas, was a member of the Arkansas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and was a member of Phi Delta Kappa fraternity. Mrs. Billie Golden, window of Dr. James Golden, died April, 2004. In her memory, the surviving children renamed the scholarship to honor her also.
