Dr. W. W. and Lu L. Nedrow Scholarship
The scholarship you are receiving was established by the estate of Mrs. Lu L. Nedrow of Jonesboro, AR, and was named in memory of Mrs. Nedrow and her husband, Dr. W.W. Nedrow, arguably one of the “power couples” in the history of Arkansas State. Mrs. Nedrow was a retired teacher and director of Food Services at Arkansas State University for 33 years. She was the founder of the Epsilon Zeta Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Delta at ASU. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Jonesboro chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Gladioulus Garden Club, the Lady Elks and Delta Kappa Gamma International. Dr. Nedrow joined the Arkansas State College faculty in 1936 as choir of the Department of Biology; he later served as dean of the Science Department, and then dean of the Graduate School. “Doc Ned” became widely known and respected, both for his dedication to teaching and for the guidance he gave his students. He was the founder of the Arkansas State chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and served as its adviser for many years.
