Edgar and Vera Kirk Memorial Scholarship

Misty and Farel Byrd of Collierville, Tenn., established a scholarship endowment in memory of Mrs. Byrd’s late aunt and uncle, Vera and Edgar Kirk, whose work as educators is known throughout Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas. The endowment will support the Edgar and Vera Kirk Scholarship in the College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Kirk was an ASU alumnus who later joined the ASU history department faculty. Mrs. Kirk was a teacher in the Jonesboro School District.
