Jonathan Barfield Memorial Scholarship

The Jonathan Barfield Memorial Scholarship was established by the Sigma Chi Chapter of Arkansas State University in honor Jonathan Barfield, a colleague, friend and brother. This scholarship was created to ensure that his memory and his impact on A-State are remembered for years to come. As a graduate of Arkansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a dedicated member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Jonathan left an impression on everyone he met. On August 22, 2010 at the too young age of 23, Jonathan lost his hard fought battle with leukemia and will forever be remembered for his positive outlook on life and the never give up spirit. It is the hope that the recipient of this scholarship will live their life to the fullest, and striving to impact the world through their education, service, and a never give up attitude.
