Sam Morgan Scholarship

The Sam Morgan Scholarship was established by Mary Ruth Scholes in the memory of her brother Sam Morgan. Sam Morgan was born in Guy, Arkansas and served in the United States Army. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1953 with a degree in Education and later received his Masters Degree in Education Administration from Northwestern University. He taught elementary, junior, and senior high classes. He retired in 1986 from Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan where one of his most challenging students was Tim “The Tool Man” Allen.

After retirement Sam moved to Jonesboro where he enjoyed playing golf.
