Sandy Alstadt Public Reltions Scholarship

Following a successful 30+ year career in corporate and non-profit communications, Alstadt retired from Entergy Services, Inc. in 2018. At Entergy, Sandy served in progressively higher leadership positions including Director/Group Manager of Customer Communications. Her responsibilities included leading the company’s branding and integrated customer communications; she also served as Entergy’s Public Information Officer for more than 20 years. In 2006, PR News, a nation public relations publication, named Alstadt the “2006 Crisis Communicator of the Year.” Prior to joining Entergy, Alstadt served as vice president of communications for the United Way of Pulaski County.

Alstadt has a bachelor of science degree in journalism/public relations from Arkansas State University. She has been active in many professional, civic, and charitable organizations. Alstadt currently serves as chairman of the Baptist Health Extended Care Board; vice president of the Arkansas Committee/National Museum of Women in the Arts; and is an active mentor for A-State’s Women’s Business Leadership Center where she is a Founding Circle member. Other recognitions include the Arkansas Business “Top 100 Women in Arkansas” and their “Top 40 under 40” list. AY Magazine also selected her as one of their 12 “Powerful Women.” In 2023, she was selected as Mentor of the Year by the A-State Women’s Leadership Collaborative.
Alstadt is currently enjoying retirement life and is owner of Alstadt Solutions, LLC, a communications consulting company. She and her husband, Tod, live in Little Rock. Their son, Zack, lives in Los Angeles.
