Sullivan Hispanic Community Service Scholarship

Sullivan Hispanic Community Service Scholarship

Joe Sullivan of Sullivan Steel, located on State Highway 1 just south of the Craighead-Poinsett county line, made the gift after speaking with Henry Torres, Sullivan’s fellow church member and friend who is also senior lecturer of Decision Sciences in the Department of Economics and Decision Sciences at ASU. Mr. Sullivan approached Mr. Torres and expressed his wish to do something for ASU and Torres suggested a scholarship because there aren’t many Hispanics in the student population. Sullivan was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and worked for Nucor Steel before starting his own fabrication business.
