Roy Aldridge Legacy Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the proceeds from the Roy L. Aldridge, Jr., Golf Classic, aka “The Roy.” Dr. Roy Aldridge was a professor in the Physical Therapy Department at Arkansas State, and playing golf was one of Dr. Aldridge’s favorite pastimes. Dr. Aldridge completed his bachelor and master degrees at the University of Tennessee-Memphis, and his doctoral degree at Arkansas State University. Dr. Aldridge practiced in pediatrics and orthopedics and was known for his dedication to the PT program. He began his career in 2000 and was highly instrumental in starting and leading the College of Nursing and Health Professions hippotherapy program. Dr. Aldridge wasn’t just a professor to those who knew him. He was a wonderful friend, mentor and a wonderful person. He is known for his passion for PT, but also his optimistic outlook, even in the face of the difficult odds while battling cancer. The first awards for this scholarship were given in the spring 2023 semester.
