The Norma Moore Wood Math Education Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Mr. Jack Wood, with assistance from Brenda Schildberg, their daughter, in memory of his wife, Mrs. Norma Moore Wood. Mrs. Wood graduated from Arkansas State in 1963 with a Math Education degree. She also met her husband, Jack at Arkansas State. She was always very proud of being a graduate of Arkansas State and spoke very highly of her time here.
Mrs. Wood was a long-time high school math teacher and she understood the challenges of teaching. Unfortunately, teaching is not a highly paid profession and there is such a critical need for math teachers. Mr. Jack Wood and their daughter wanted to carry on the legacy of Mrs. Wood’s love of teaching math by being able to bless future secondary education majors with this scholarship in memory of Norma.
