Melvyn and Alice Wetherspoon Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship you are receiving was established after the death of Mr. Melvyn Wetherspoon by many friends and family members. His career as an educator and supporter to the church and community is honored through this award. This scholarship offers a Newport High School graduate the opportunity to achieve their personal higher education goals that Mr. Wetherspoon aspired to and provided encouragement to his students. His wife and children maintain an active role in support to and interest in this award in honor of their husband and father.
